Series 500 Recovery Switching System (RSS500) — Provides highly reliable AB switching between primary and backup circuits. Circuits may be switched individually, in groups across one or more chassis, or gang switched across an entire system of RSS500 chassis. A remote control option is also provided for gang switching via a dedicated port.

Advanced Control Cards provide several user interfaces—SNMP, Telnet, Web browser and MavriQ's own graphical user interface—to control the system. Numerous Switching Interface Cards are available to accommodate a variety of circuit configurations. For backup reliability, each RSS500 chassis may contain a second Power Supply Module (PSM) or may be connected to a rack mounted Redundant Power Supply (RPS), which can provide power to up to eight chassis.

Large Switching Capacity
The Series 500 Recovery Switching System supports up to 64 RSS500 chassis containing up to 2048 switching circuits. Each RSS500 chassis accommodates up to 16 Switching Interface Cards and one Control Card. Interface cards contain one or two switching circuits.

Multiple Switching Options
Circuits may be switched individually (AB switching), in selected groups within one or across several chassis, or fully gang switched across an entire system of RSS500 chassis. Each RSS500 chassis has a security key switch on the front panel to lock/unlock local switch operations, preventing unauthorized local switching. LEDs on the front-panel show the current switch position.

Compatible with Hadax 5000 Series
The RSS500 Switching interface cards are compatible with the Hadax 5000 Series Automatic Switching System.

Modular Switching Interface Cards
Fully transparent to all communication speeds, protocols and formats. Cards contain latching relays to maintain the last switched position during power loss. Interfaces include RS-232/V.24, RS-449, RS-530, NTDS Fast, BNC, V.35, T1, RJ-11, RJ-45 (Cat-5) and other configurations. Coax and RJ-11/RJ-45 (Cat-5) come in dual channels per card, increasing the channel density per chassis. Switching Interface Cards can be mixed in the RSS500 chassis. The 501-RM Rack Mount provides for SCSI 1, 2 and 3 interfaces as well as DB50.

Redundant Power
For power backup, each RSS500 chassis may contain a second Power Supply Module (PSM) or may be connected to a rack mounted Redundant Power Supply (RPS), which can provide power for up to eight chassis. Voltage options include 110VAC/220VAC or -48VDC.

Compact Size
In the 7" high RSS500 chassis, up to 32 switched channels can be accomplished. In the 8.75" high chassis, up to 16 switched channels can be accomplished.
